Break Time

So obviously there has been no progress on this project in recent months due to some serious travel hours being racked up. Gotta love jobs with lots of opportunities for travel!

Anyhoo, I havent forgotten about this. As soon as I get back, expect to see some movement and improvement. Been doing a lot of thinking, and keep coming back to better options for what I am tryins to accomplish. Looking like some slide lightening will definately be taking place due to some weak ejection issues I was having during my last range trip (the recoil is nice and soft, but the slide isnt cycling with enough force for the ejected brass to clear the slide, resulting in some pock marks in the front of my current mount/optic set up). Also planning on having the slide milled so the STS fits straight to it rather than play around with mounts and other bullshit.

Also considering switching to an RMR or a delta point. Their front-to-back length is shorter and more conducive to attaching it further back and cutting a slot for a slide racker just ahead of the optic.

I see carver has begun offering a 4 port compensator as well ( !!! !!! !!!) that I am looking forward to trying out. There will need to be some serious load work done as well, so stay tuned.

Done with BME

Okay, I give up. I have been trying for six months to get an optic mount like I showed before, and the last source I tried was BME. Not only did it take 4 months to get the finished product, but the locating pegs where 1/4" too far back on the mount, preventing the screw holes on the STS from lining up with the mount. I've emailed and called the company, but after a further two months I have heard nothing back. The piece of shit cost me $125 and I can't even freaking use it!!!

Screw this shit. I'm trading the STS in for a slide ride and getting myself one of SJCs frame mounts. Stay as far away from BME as you possibly can.

New mount!

Nearly perfect, just working out some spacing issues. This will drop your point of aim almost a half inch closer to the bore as compared to other slide mounted optics! Looking forward to getting the final version and giving it a whirl!
